Glazier's assistant

We are looking for someone to assist our team of glaziers and would certainly welcome applications from mature job seekers

About the job:

• Accurately measure jobs for quoting (after training)
• Cut, polish and handle glass and mirrors safely (after training)
• Reglaze windows and doors (timber and aluminium) including hack outs and putty work (under supervision)
• Assist with the measurement and installation of splashbacks, frameless showers
• Assist with the retro-fitting of double glazing
• Drive to customer’s premises and install glass as required ((after training)

Pre-requisites:

• The right to work in NZ
• Experienced and qualified (or experienced and willing to learn)
• Honest and trustworthy
• Good health and safety track record
• Physically fit and healthy
• Good communication skills in English
• Customer service focus
• Clean and tidy appearance at all times
• Full NZ driver’s license
• Police clearance
• Drug clearance
• Know how to work a smartphone for messaging, e-mail and note-taking
• Work confidently alone or in a team

About you

You could have a background from any of a variety of trades including construction, cabinet making, carpenter, joining or someone who is "good with their hands". The role can be adapted to suit the best applicant and the pay will be adjusted to suit your experience.

The role is ideally full time, but we are happy to make allowances for someone with the right qualifications. The pay rate is $25 - negotiable by experience and performance.
