Permanent - Full Time

 Mon - Friday 9:00am - 4:30pm with occasional weekend work                                                       

40 Hours a week 

$45-50K (Salary) depending on experience

 

The Retail Store Manager will be responsible for the day to day operations of our new charity store opening in Mt Roskill. This position is an immediate start. Recruiting and rostering volunteers, managing and merchandising donations, sales, and promotions both in store and online are all part of the daily tasks.

Depending on how soon you start with us, you may have a unique opportunity to be involved in the setup of the store from scratch. This is a great opportunity for a person who has experience in retail or a keen interest in learning all facets of our charity.

 From a retail perspective this is a sought after role. Working with volunteers means you have a team on board that are really passionate to be there.  Primary Outcomes

The store manager is responsible for the profitable operations of the store. They will have a budget to work with, measurable targets to achieve and an opportunity to imprint our vision in the community.

 The role will report to the Senior Co-Ordinator who supports the day to day running of the trust and the Trustees who implement the strategic vision. There is a need for autonomy, accountability and flexibility as you have the primary sole responsibility for the store.

 Practical Application of Tasks

  • Service all customers, assist with fittings and enquiries in person and on phone
  • Accept (and politely decline) donations in line with donation policy
  • Manage donations - ensuring stores are clean and working.
  • Testing and Tagging electrical goods
  • Pricing, merchandising and displays
  • Monthly 1 on 1 meetings with employees including reviews and goal setting
  • Setting the agenda and publishing minutes for store meetings
  • Regular communication (daily/weekly) as required with Employees and volunteers on daily activities
  • Communicating directly with Senior Co-Ordinator, other staff and sister store to collaborate
  • Daily review of all Social Media communication and interactions - includes promoting engagement
  • Writing and reviewing Volunteer opportunities
  • Assisting with the co ordinating of Fundraising activities
  • Responding to ad-hoc requests from Trustees & managers

 

Technical Abilities

Basic-Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office products (Mail/spreadsheets etc)

We use a Microsoft Teams environment so experience or a willingness to learn

Create and format professional documents and letters

Ability to navigate social media and professional platforms

Cash Management and Till operation
