Part time - Permanent

Saturday - 9:00am - 4:30pm with occasional weekday work                                               

7 Hours a week 

$24 hour    


The Weekend Supervisor will be responsible for the day to day operations of our new charity store opening in Mt Roskill on weekends (Saturday). This position is an immediate start. Managing and merchandising donations, sales, and promotions both in store and online are all part of the daily tasks.

Depending on how soon you start with us, you may have a unique opportunity to be involved in the set up of the store from scratch. This is a great opportunity for a person who has experience in retail or a keen interest in learning all facets of our industry.

Primary Outcomes

The Supervisor is responsible for the profitable operations of the store in the Store Managers absence. They will have a budget to work with, measurable targets to achieve and an opportunity to imprint our vision in the community.


The role will report to the Store manager who has responsibility for the running of the store and the wellbeing of staff and volunteers, you will look after these things on the weekend. There is a need for autonomy, accountability and flexibility as you have the primary sole responsibility for the store at this time.


Practical Application of Tasks

  • Service all customers, assist with fittings and enquiries in person and on phone
  • Accept (and politely decline) donations in line with donation policy
  • Manage donations - ensuring stores are clean and working.
  • Testing and Tagging electrical goods
  • Pricing, merchandising and displays
  • Communicating directly with Store manager, other staff and sister store to collaborate
  • Review of Social Media communication and interactions - includes promoting engagement
  • Assisting with the co ordinating of Fundraising activities
  • Responding to ad-hoc requests from Store Manager


Technical Abilities

Basic-Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office products (Mail/spreadsheets etc)

We use a Microsoft Teams environment so experience or a willingness to learn

Create and format professional documents and letters

Ability to navigate social media and professional platforms

Cash Management and Till operation
