Senior Learning Designer - One Year Fixed Term

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

As a Senior Learning Designer, specialising in design and development of learning solutions, you'll be part of a team partnering with stakeholders in our Auckland-based processing and automation teams to understand their performance capability needs and then developing solutions that deliver value.  Our Auckland Processing Centre is scheduled to open next June so we're looking for someone who will land running. 

Your focus on partnering with the business and ability to communicate in plain English will mean you'll always be clear about what success looks like for the stakeholder and keeping your eye on that.  They'll know the value they get from working with you and see you as a credible partner.

Your eye will firmly be on the needs of the business and you will constantly be looking for the smartest solutions to support behaviour shift.  You will relish the challenge of working with folks who have been working in manual roles and are now moving into an automated environment.  Your own curiosity and experience will mean your kete of techniques and tools will be jam-packed with ideas and skills for engaging learners and creating great learning experiences.  

Mōu - About you

As an experienced Learning Designer, used to working in large and complex organisations you'll have the ability to pull together meaningful learning in short time periods. You'll be able to demonstrate your experience in instructional design, across a wide range of learning solutions.

This is a demanding role, where your confidence, resilience, and skills in stakeholder engagement will be highly valued. You'll be well versed at facilitating and enabling change through learning initiatives and have the ability to make critical decisions so that our solutions are future-proofed, flexible and aligned to our wider business goals. 

You'll have a deep understanding of how adults learn, including the importance of informal and collaborative learning, and your solutions will be innovative, pragmatic and achieve business results.
