Harvey Norman is seeking an experienced Financial Reporting Accountant on a full-time fixed term basis for four months. This role will provide support to the Financial Reporting Manager in the preparation and distribution of financial reporting for both internal and external use. Help ensure that reports, filings, and documentation comply with the company’s procedures and international accounting standards.
In this role you will support the Financial Reporting Manager in:
The calculation of monthly accounting adjustments required for Group reporting purposes
The overall accuracy, quality and timeliness of all financial reporting is maintained
The preparation and filing of the local statutory financial statements within required timeframes
Ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements as well as internal systems and policies
The preparation of cashflow forecasts
The preparation and filing of statutory returns, including all Inland Revenue and Companies Office returns, by required deadlines
Determining the correct accounting treatment of key transactions undertaken by the business
The preparation and analysis of property revaluation accounting entries
The preparation, analysis and presentation of financial reports, financial forecasts, budgets and variance information on monthly/quarterly/annual basis as required
We are looking for someone with:
A minimum of 5 years accounting experience in a large audit firm.
Bachelor’s degree – Accounting.
CA qualified.
Knowledge of, and experience in, the application of accounting standards to create compliant financial reports.
Ability to interpret relevant legislation, regulations, and standards. Experienced in adhering to, and understanding, compliance requirements.
Knowledge of tax legislation.
A thorough understanding of statutory accounts in NZ
Experience in a large Property or Retail in an accounting and/or auditing capacity
