Job Description

Drive the Learning and Capabilities for Harvey Norman New Zealand in this active Advisor role.

We are looking for an experienced and confident instructional designer and learning developer to join our People Operations Team as the Learning and Capability Advisor. You will collaborate with the training teams from each of our departments to ensure a cohesive training approach across the business.

This role plays a key part in the design, development and implementation of learning solutions for the Harvey Norman NZ operation. Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Liaise with the training managers within each of our departments and work in partnership with subject matter experts to design and develop quality learning content, material and resources, including e-learning.
  • Provide specialist advice on learning and development activities.
  • Create e-learning modules from time to time, using Articulate Storyline.
  • Conduct training and learning needs analysis’ and provide advice to managers and staff.
  • Review existing learning material and ensure it meets the current needs of the business and evaluate the success of learning solutions.
  • Create and maintain means to capture records and tracking of learning initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain learning and development policies and procedures. 
  • Manage New Zealand operation induction practices to ensure all induction resources are accessible and utilised by the business.

The capabilities we are looking for in our ideal candidate:

  • Previous experience in learning and development, including electronic learning.
  • Leadership skills and able to captivate and engage others.
  • Strong attention to detail and great time management skills.
  • Confident to interact with management and staff at all levels of the organisation and able to build rapport easily.
  • Ability to logically prioritise and manage multiple and competing tasks and demands autonomously.
  • Able to adapt to challenges and think creatively to provide multiple solutions, being a champion for a new ideas and innovation.
  • Can scope out the length and difficulty of projects and set clear plans and objectives.   
  • Computer literate with Microsoft suite, Outlook, Articulate Storyline and able to easily learn new programs and software.
