Category Marketing Specialist

Passionate about marketing? NZ Safety Blackwoods is searching for a vibrant Category Marketing Specialist to lead our category's marketing charge and drive demand within the B2B and B2C markets!

In this role, you'll be the advocate to grow sales for our fantastic supplier partners — executing marketing plans, aligned with category objectives, utilising the full media mix, orchestrating bi-annual catalogues, and working with the in-house studio team to deliver technical material that showcases NZ Safety Blackwoods’ expertise in relevant areas. Your mission? To enhance our brand's market presence and fuel category growth.

You'll collaborate with suppliers to manage promotional funding, keep a pulse on market activity, and ensure seamless execution of supplier marketing initiatives. This is a key role and a great opportunity to work with diverse industries and will give the successful applicant plenty of variety. No day will be the same. Key Responsibilities:

• Championing supplier marketing objectives and the implementation of campaigns to support these
• Actively plan sessions and prepare joint marketing plans with key suppliers
• Preparation of post campaign analysis presentations for suppliers and relevant merchandising teams
• Contribute to the development and execution of NZ Safety Blackwoods overall marketing strategies and plans
• Ensure brand consistency is delivered in all executions
• Ability to work with a ‘whole of business’ mindset when delivering marketing activity and campaigns.
• Develop and implement marketing plans in conjunction with the merchandise and sales team in order to support category plans and business goals
• Provide weekly competitor activity reports in key categories for merchandise team review
• Create strong relationships within the marketing team and more broadly with colleagues across the merchandising function and supplier network
• Manage briefings, deadlines and activity with external agencies where relevant, including event co-ordination

Our Ideal Candidate?

• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in Product Marketing OR Advertising Agency Account Director level looking after industries involved in tools and /or apparel promotion
• Experience in developing and managing an integrated marketing plan and the execution of advertising campaigns within a B2B and B2C environment
• Demonstrable experience in effective project management
• Strong execution focus - ability to manage own time and unsupervised
• Displays initiative and problem-solving skills, active communicator
• Empathetic and has an ability to assess impacts of decisions and pro-actively briefs stakeholders to those impacts
• Strong presentation skills with confidence at presenting to senior level executives
• Enthusiasm for designing and delivering go-to-market strategies that achieve business objectives
• Demonstrable balance of creative and analytical skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced and agile environment
