Mitre 10 has been equipping, inspiring and supporting Kiwi DIYers and tradies since 1974. We’re New Zealand’s largest home improvement and garden retailer and trade merchant. A co-operative of 84 independent locally owned stores, we’re invested in our communities and we’re proud to offer a massive range, everyday low prices, and expert project advice. We’ve served Aotearoa for 50 years and we’ve loved every minute of it.

We welcome people who are passionate about giving advice and supporting the DIY ambitions of our customers.  Almost one third of our team is aged 60+ and we cherish the knowledge that do-it-yourself experience brings.

As part of the team, you'll be employed by the local store owner.  We have Mitre 10 and Mitre 10 MEGA stores across the country, so you're bound to find a store close to you. You'll also find roles that are part time as well as full time with rostered shifts that offer flexibility. We employ locally and we invest in our local communities through our Helping Hands projects.

You may not have worked in retail before but we offer full training.  You'll need to love interacting with customers, enjoy being active and busy around the store, be comfortable with technology and most of all bring a passion for DIY, gardening, tools and helping others nail their projects.
