Job Description

We have a Senior Project Manager position opening up at Counties Manukau DHB. This role will be responsible for the delivery of major Healthcare Facilities and Infrastructure projects ranging from $1m to $150m we currently have in our pipeline. This role will report into Project Director - Project Governance and Capital Works and will have up to 4 direct reports contingent on complexity and number of inflight projects.


We are looking for people that are passionate about healthcare projects and that are keen to make a contribution to the South Auckland community’s healthcare facilities. We currently have x3 Senior Project Manager positions available, working on a full-time basis.


The ideal candidate will have major capital planning and delivery experience within healthcare, hospitality or other complex commercial sector or someone who has experience with complex organisational needs comparable to the health sector. An ability to understand major project governance and capital workflow processes; with an appreciation for uniqueness of how different organisations deliver capital projects from the principal’s perspective.


The person we are looking for will have a demonstrated track record leading delivery of multimillion dollar projects within a multidisciplinary team made up of internal stakeholders and external consultants. You will be comfortable with managing demands on scope changes and conflicting priories through open dialogues and establishing working relationships that encourage productive discussions. This role is pivotal to delivering major facilities build which lines up with our strategic goal of achieving health equity for our community.


Besides well-honed PMP principals, you will bring your tactful approach to managing project sponsor and end user expectations. This role requires you to use your strong negotiation skills to value engineer the best commercial outcomes for CMDHB.


You will have full responsibility of project budget, project risk management, procurement strategy and contracts engagement to deliver outcomes that will be measured against quality, budget and programme success criteria.
