Avonside House Trust is a residential care provider for people with an intellectual disability. We are seeking people with good life skills and common sense to support and work alongside our vulnerable clients.
Job Overview
To provide safe transport for clients of the Neighbourhood Trust both to and from programmes whilst liaising and reinforcing the wider trusts work in the community. You must hold a full, clean, New Zealand drivers license and be able to uphold the children’s transport policy of the trust.
Responsibilities and Duties
· Check safety and fuel available of the vehicle to be used.
· Create the pickup list and communicate the route to be taken.
· Liaise with Programme manager and trust regularly.
· Follow all road rules as government guidelines
· Must carry a mobile phone and first aid kit in the vehicle.
Qualifications
· Supports the Christian values that underpin the Neighbourhood Trust.
· A passion for serving people and safe driving record
· Able to pass a NZ Police vet and risk assessment.
· A good all round knowledge of the Christchurch area.
· Full, Clean New Zealand Driver License is essential.
· Physically able.
Expected commitment
· 6-10 hours per week

We are a not for profit providing child care in our OSCAR programmes while others in our organisation offer community supports like individual supports for both men and women. Parenting courses for Dads, counselling for kids in school, an over 60's programme and a food bank and many other initiatives.
