Before , After School and Holiday Programme - Casual position
Avonside House Trust is a residential care provider for people with an intellectual disability. We are seeking people with good life skills and common sense to support and work alongside our vulnerable clients.
We are looking for a mature person to join our team on a casual basis
Activities which are a key part of the role
1. Develop activities appropriate to the needs of children aged 5-13 years and be prepared to lead them.
2. Prepare and serve breakfast or afternoon tea for the children.
3. Assist with activities organised by other staff.
Children
1. Nurture a happy, secure environment where children have positive self-esteem.
2. Ensure children’s safety and welfare always (supervision).
3. Treat each child with dignity and respect. ( no pet names)
4. Have good relations with children and parents.
5. Ensure food, drink, rest and toilet facilities are available at all times.
Facilities
1 Ensure the cleanliness of the facilities and grounds.
2. Notify the supervisor of any maintenance needs.
Staff
1. Work with other staff members as a team, making sure all team members can be sighted by at least one other staff member..
2. Attend staff meetings and workshops as required.
3. Be responsible to the supervisor for day-to-day business.
4. Attend appropriate staff training as directed

This is a great opportunity for a mature person looking for some part-time hours per week.
We are a not for profit providing child care in our OSCAR programmes while others in our organisation offer community supports like individual supports for both men and women. Parenting courses for Dads, counselling for kids in school, an over 60's programme and a food bank and many other initiatives.
