This could be just the role for you
Right now the elderly are our most vulnerable during this pandemic. Come and join us to continue to keep them safe.
We’ve established world class retirement villages, practising and fostering a resident-directed model of care. All of our Auckland Care Villages, embody our determination that our elders enjoy the very best in their retirement and offers a full continuum of care from independent living through to rest home and residential hospital level care.
We're passionate about enabling people to get the very most out of their retirement; and we're just as committed to helping our team get the most out of their careers.
About the role
Our friendly care teams are on the look-out for people keen to become a Caregiver in our busy care homes, providing first class care and services to our residents. This can range from supporting them to get out of bed, bathing, getting dressed, travelling to communal areas to make them feel comfy whilst they participate in activities or enjoy meal times. Come along to support our residents in making them cups of tea, and generally making life comfortable. This is a very rewarding role where you can treat people with the respect they deserve and warm your heart with the interactions you have.
You’ll be part of team that deliver high standards Resident Directed care and support as well as work in partnership with residents and their families and will foster an environment of acceptance and choice.
Skills and experience required
You’ll have a large capacity for kindness and caring together with a bright, breezy attitude and "can-do, will-do" team focus. You’ll appreciate how important this position is in delivering an outstanding service to our residents, so you will have empathy for the older person; excellent written and spoken English with the ability to communicate in a clear, considerate fashion with both staff and residents; and an industrious, diligent approach to ensuring that the job is done to the highest standards. A customer service focus and providing people with the best experiences will be at the heart of everything you do. You’ll have a love for people and take the time to listen then act with kindness. Having had caregiving experience is advantageous but not necessary.
Coupled with maintaining the highest standards of resident care in a supportive team environment, we offer professional development pathways and career progression opportunities, as well as a competitive hourly rate and allowances which reflect your skills and experience. This could be a great step into a permanent role longer term. We also have over 25 villages across the North Island, so pending your location, this is an opportunity to experience and enjoy different cultures in different villages, working with a diverse group of amazing people and get to know ample residents.
