Job Description

We are an 100% New Zealand owned and operated family travel & tours business, based on the lovely Kapiti Coast, however this hosting role allows you to be located New Zealand wide.

With the ever increasing expansion of our domestic touring range, we are now looking for additional professional and experienced tour leaders/hosts to join us in hosting our multi-day small group hosted tours around New Zealand. 

Your experience may have been gain from previous travel & tours hosting experience or event management/hospitality experience at management level.

Please note: No tour driving is involved or required for this role.

Our small group tours, with a maximum of 18 tour guests, are designed for the active mature traveller and tour all over New Zealand (also international destinations again once borders re-open).  

As one of our tour leaders/hosts you are essential to the smooth running of our tours and ensuring our clients have the holidays they deserve and as one of our tour hosts you will be warmly welcomed as part of our tours team.

Our New Zealand tours run from between 4 days through to 20 days in length and as you will be aware from your past experience, days can be long, however also very rewarding. Quality accommodation, meals, tour activities and excursions are all included as part of being one of our tour leader/hosts. 

Desired qualifications and skills: 

  • Minimum 5 years tour leading/hosting experience or event/hospitality management experience and up-to-date touring knowledge of New Zealand, with a love to share your passion and knowledge of our beautiful country.
  • ITMI Tour Director certification desirable .
  • A great sense of humour is definitely a plus.
  • Ability to manage and follow all company health and safety requirements, full training provided.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to co-ordinate well with our experienced tour coach drivers/guides.
  • Ability to logistically manage groups of up to 18 people.
  • Current First Aid qualification (must be renewed/obtained prior to departure of first tour, if not current).
  • Full, clean, current New Zealand drivers’ license.
  • An good eye for detail and a organised approach to getting the required tasks completed efficiently, on time and inline with company operating procedures.
  • Excellent administration skills required, as report writing and written tour briefings are required at the completion of each tour, full training provided.
