In Tauranga, NZ Bus owns a fleet of 135 buses running approximately .38 million service trips and 5.1 million in-service kilometres per annum and operating approximately 78 routes.
NZ Bus’ primary business is providing urban bus route services through long term contracts with Auckland Council-owned Auckland Transport (AT); the Greater Wellington Regional Council (GWRC) and the Bay of Plenty Regional Council (BOPRC). Market shares are 36% in Auckland and 28% in Wellington and 100% in Tauranga.
