Brackenridge is a not-for-profit organisation that provides support to children, young people, adults with intellectual disabilities and/ or autism, and their families. Brackenridge is based in Canterbury provides a 24/7 service on a rotating roster (covering AM, PM and awake shifts).
At the core of our practice philosophy is our belief in people and the rights of all to live in and be part of the community, and to exercise citizenship. We have over 460 staff in a variety of roles that provide support services for people with a disability, across a wide age range. We are looking for full time, part time and casual Community Support Workers who want to encourage and empower people with a learning disability to live a meaningful life. This will involve:
• Actively promoting self-advocacy, self-confidence, independence, participation and choice
• Assisting people to achieve opportunities and involvement in a valuing lifestyle of their choice shared by family, friends and the community
• Supporting people with their daily personal needs
