Job Description

Product Manager

At NZ Post we connect Aotearoa to the world and the world back to us. As international eCommerce continues to grow, we are evolving the products and services that move parcels across borders every day.

We are looking for a Product Manager early in their career who is ready to step up, take ownership, and get stuck into the work. This is a hands-on development opportunity for someone with around 1 to 2 years of product management experience who wants to build their capability in a fast moving environment while working alongside experienced product leaders.

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Due to an internal move, we are looking for a Product Manager to join our International team, based in Highbrook, East Tamaki.  You will help manage and improve the products that bring parcels into New Zealand every day, working closely with senior product managers, technology teams, commercial partners, and offshore teams.

This role sits at the centre of our international product ecosystem.  You will help drive product initiatives forward, contribute to Agile delivery with technology teams, and ensure work is clearly prioritised and moving.  It is a great opportunity to gain exposure to the full product lifecycle while helping improve customer experience and commercial performance.

In this role you will be:

  • Owning and managing elements of NZ Post's international product portfolio
  • Working within Agile delivery environments to prioritise and deliver product initiatives
  • Using tools such as Jira and other delivery platforms to manage backlogs, track work, and maintain visibility
  • Leading meetings, workshops, and stakeholder discussions that move work forward
  • Partnering with offshore teams and international partners to coordinate product improvements and changes
  • Identifying opportunities to improve product performance, customer experience, and commercial outcomes

Think of this as your chance to understand the full product lifecycle while making a real difference to how New Zealanders and international customers experience NZ Post.  It's a great development role for someone wanting to grow their product management experience.

Mōu - About you

You are someone who takes ownership and is comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders.  You ask questions, challenge assumptions, and are confident speaking up when something does not look right.  You are organised, commercially aware, and able to bring clarity to complex conversations.

You will also be comfortable working in Agile environments, helping translate product priorities into deliverable work while keeping stakeholders aligned and informed.

You combine this with:

  • Around 1 to 2 years' experience in product management, project management or a similar role
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence across teams
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments and using Jira or similar tools to manage product delivery
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to quickly build trust and relationships, especially in complex or busy environments
  • Being curious, hands-on, and motivated to understand products and services so you can lead effectively
