Job Description

A well-established processing operation is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to assist with the upkeep and reliability of plant equipment.

This role would ideally suit a highly experienced or semi-retired tradesperson, or a retired engineer, who enjoys practical, hands-on work and would welcome flexible hours while contributing their expertise to a small operational team.

The position involves preventative maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and assisting with improvements to plant reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on plant equipment
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on industrial machinery
  • Assist with installation and modification of plant equipment
  • Ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently
  • Work alongside operations staff to minimise downtime
  • Maintain a safe working environment and follow health & safety procedures

Ideal Experience

  • Qualified or highly experienced Maintenance Fitter / Mechanical Fitter / Engineer
  • Experience working in manufacturing, processing plants, or similar industrial environments
  • Pneumatic experience
  • PLC exposure
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding ability
  • Practical, hands-on approach to maintenance and repairs
  • Ability to work independently and manage small maintenance tasks
