Duty Manager – Part Time Permanent

We are currently seeking two motivated individuals to join our team at one of New Zealand’s leading self storage operators.

About the role
These are permanent part time positions based at our Newlands, Wellington facility , with a total of 23 rostered hours per week per position. The positions will be Thursday Friday and Saturday. Our office hours are 8am to 5pm weekdays and 9am - 4pm Saturday.

From time to time, there may also be extra shifts available to help cover annual leave or sick leave, with team members supporting each other as needed. We are therefore looking for someone who is happy to pick up additional shifts if required.

This role would suit someone who is self motivated, customer focused and comfortable working both within a team and independently, with the confidence to work solo every second Saturday once trained. It may appeal to a retiree looking for some routine in their week, a parent returning to the workforce after time at home, or anyone seeking a steady part time role with variety and responsibility.

Key responsibilities
As Duty Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Managing sales enquiries and converting them into storage rentals
• Delivering a consistently high standard of customer service
• Handling reservations and processing payments
• Showing prospective customers around the facility
• Using computer systems accurately and confidently
• Completing general administration tasks
• Maintaining a clean and tidy facility, including daily cleaning of hallways, office frontage, restrooms and storage units as required

About you
You will be reliable, professional and easy to deal with, with a naturally friendly approach. Duty Managers are an important part of our day to day operations and play a key role in ensuring every customer has a positive experience.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A friendly and outgoing personality with a strong customer focus
• Experience in sales or customer service
• The ability to work independently while contributing to the wider team
• Solid computer skills including email, data entry and CRM style systems
• Clear written and verbal communication
• Good problem solving ability and sound judgement
• A strong work ethic and a reliable, honest nature
• A clean Police record

Applicants must hold a full, current New Zealand Driver License, be a New Zealand citizen, have relevant sales or customer service experience, a clean criminal history and a positive attitude.
