Operations Improvement Specialist

  •  Support site managers and operational leaders to enhance performance across National Processing
  • Use data, insight, and influence to drive measurable improvement at scale
  • Permanent, full-time role based in Wiri, Auckland

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

This is a role where you can make a real impact working at the heart of our processing operations.

The key focus of this role is analysis of operational/sortation performance data and trends across NZ Post sortation centers, identifying patterns, root causes, and translating insight into action.  You'll conduct in-depth analysis through insights raised by key internal stakeholders and your own curiosity.  You'll design and support the delivery of practical improvement plans, drive consistency, review and embed standard work, and support continuous improvement.  We are a culture of continuous improvement, and this role is key to making that a part of how we work every day.

You're someone who enjoys making sense of complex information and using it to improve how things work.

Your career history will clearly highlight your skills in data analysis, reporting, business effectiveness, and you're confident communicating your findings to a wide range of audiences at all levels.   You have excellent customer service and stakeholder management skills, build credibility quickly, communicate with influence and collaborate across teams to drive outcomes.

Key skills and experience you'll bring will include:

  • The ability to work autonomously while delivery to shared goals
  • Strong influencing skills
  • Qualifications, training, or experience in business or process improvement, or process design like Lean/Six Sigma would be advantageous.
  • Mathematical modelling experience
  • Database mining experience
  • Clear, confident written and verbal communication skills
