Business Advisor - 12 Months Fixed Term

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Due to a key nationwide project to refresh our retail network, we are looking for a Finance Business Advisor to join our team and partner with the project to keep things on track and provide outstanding finance support.

In addition to supporting the project, you'll also work with the team to support and drive the business towards better outcomes around financial management, performance, investment and ongoing strategic and commercial management decisions. 

You'll draw on your management accounting or commercial background when it comes time for month end reporting and then working with the business around the insights and what it all means. 

Mōu - About you

Ideally, you'll be an experienced management accountant or financial analyst, having either a Big 4 environment or commercial experience, in medium to large sized organisations.  You'll be a commercially savvy, analytical person with experience with project finance and a penchant for numbers.

Either way you'll be curious by nature, you'll seek to understand how the business ticks from a cost and value perspective and be able to communicate effectively.

You'll couple this with

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to build strong relationships at all levels within the organisation
  • Clear and concise communication skills, with the ability to present information for a variety of audiences
  • Strong Excel skills, with the ability to build financial models, quickly analyse data and be adept at using a range financial systems and analytical tools

It goes without saying but we'll say it anyway, a degree in finance or accounting is essential and if you added in a CA qualification that would be the icing on the cake.
