Part-Time Sewing / Binding Assistant

We are looking for a dependable and careful person to join our team on call in a part-time sewing and binding role as required. This is a practical, hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in doing a neat job, and likes being part of a small team. Mature applicants are warmly welcomed.

What the Job Involves

·         Sew, stitch, bind, and finish items carefully and neatly

·         Use sewing and binding equipment safely and with care

·         Check finished work to make sure it looks tidy and accurate

·         Help prepare, assemble and pack completed work

·         Keep the work area clean and help with other general tasks when needed

What We Are Looking For

·         Sewing, machining, bindery or similar practical experience would be helpful, but a good attitude and willingness to learn are just as important

·         Good attention to detail and pride in doing careful work

·         Able to follow instructions and work steadily on your own or with others

·         Reliable, punctual and happy to help where needed

·         Comfortable with light manual work and either standing or sitting for periods during the day

Hours and Location

This part-time role is based in South Hornby, Christchurch, and offers approximately 10–20 hours per week on an as-needed basis. The hours may suit someone looking for flexible, part-time work.
