Job Description – Casual Maintenance Worker (On-Call)
Position Title: Casual Maintenance Worker Location: Christchurch Reports To: General Manager Employment Type: Casual, on call
Position Purpose To provide practical, hands-on maintenance and repair services across six residential homes, ensuring safe, comfortable, and well-maintained living environments for the people we support.
Key Responsibilities
Perform general maintenance and repairs, including minor plumbing, carpentry, painting, and electrical work
Install items such as TVs, shelving, and other fixtures in the people we support’s rooms
Replace light bulbs, fix door handles, and other small household repairs
Maintain outdoor areas, including trimming shrubs and general tidy-up
Collect and remove rubbish and recycling from sites
Conduct routine property checks and preventative maintenance
Support with vehicle checks, maintenance, and warrants as required...
