Standby is a consulting company specializing in Business Continuity Planning, Risk Assessments, Business Impact Analysis and IT Disaster Recovery plans. We also project manage the build of data centres.
Much of our work is short term contracting. I am often looking for older people with lots of experience in corporate business who can work as a consultant. The skills we look for is, business process knowledge, ability to break down business processes and work out what is critical and what is not when a disaster hits an organisation. We are often looking for people with good IT skills, that is previously worked at a CIO or in the management area of IT. Occasionally there is a technical knowledge require for replication of data and DR solutions. There needs to be an ability to write good reports to a high standard of English and a good knowledge of Word and other Microsoft products.
We look for people who can travel, within New Zealand but we also have work in the Middle East (safe countries). The Middle East work would mean being away from your NZ home for a few months. The jobs do not financially support moving partners into these countries.
