People Advisor

  • Manage a range of HR and ER cases end to end across a large organisation
  • Work across advisory, projects and service delivery improvement
  • Wellington CBD based with WFH flex

Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role

As a People Advisor with us, you'll sit at the heart of our People Advisory Practice, supporting leaders across the business with practical, timely HR advice and solutions.

You'll work across a broad range of employee relations matters, building trusted relationships while helping leaders confidently navigate people challenges.  It's a varied, hands-on role where you'll take ownership of cases end to end, while also contributing to continuous improvement and supporting how we deliver People services across a shared service model.

You'll achieve this by:

  • Providing expert advice on employee relations, policy and change matters
  • Managing ER cases end to end, including investigations and performance issues
  • Coaching leaders to build confidence in handling people matters and processes
  • Partnering with offshore teams to ensure accurate, timely HR delivery
  • Identifying risks, trends and opportunities to improve processes and outcomes
  • Supporting HR initiatives, projects and broader continuous improvement activity

Mōu - About you

You're a pragmatic and people-focused HR professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, operational environment. You bring confidence in handling ER matters, coupled with the ability to build strong, trusted relationships across a diverse workforce, including unions.

You're equally comfortable rolling up your sleeves to manage complex cases as you are stepping back to identify improvements and support better ways of working. You communicate clearly, think commercially, and take ownership for delivering quality outcomes.

You'll bring:

  • Experience in generalist HR, with a strong employee relations focus
  • Confidence managing investigations, misconduct and performance cases
  • Ability to coach and influence leaders at different levels
  • Experience working in complex or unionised environments
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • A continuous improvement mindset with attention to risk and detail
