HR Business Partner - Manukau

Job Description

                    Job no: DMFER
                    Category: Human Resources & Recruitment

                    HR Business Partner

Are you an experienced HR professional ready to move into a true Business Partner role — or an established HR Business Partner looking for breadth, complexity and impact?

NZ Safety Blackwoods is New Zealand’s leading provider of industrial and safety products and services. Our scale and diversity mean you’ll partner across retail, supply chain & distribution, sales, marketing, finance and IT — offering exposure few organisations can match.

We’re seeking an HR Business Partner who brings strong relationship building skills, sound HR fundamentals, and the confidence to support leaders through the end-to-end employee lifecycle. This role will also suit a capable HR Advisor who is ready to step up into business partnering with the right support and scope.

Reporting to the Head of People, Safety and Sustainability, you’ll own your client portfolio and partner leaders across the full employee lifecycle while contributing to people projects and our broader transformation journey in a complex B2B environment. This is a role where collaboration is critical, challenge is constant, and no two days are the same.

We deliver our strategy by living our values — putting customers first, acting with integrity, and being bold, open and accountable. Our EVP underpins how we work: we succeed as one team, support our people to reach their potential, and embrace challenges.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

                    • Confidence engaging with leaders and employees at all levels, building trust as a credible partner
                    • Broad HR capability, including employee relations, performance management, talent and culture
                    • Sound working knowledge of NZ employment legislation
                    • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to navigate conflict constructively
                    • A flexible, pragmatic approach in a fast‑moving, multi‑site environment

A relevant tertiary qualification and experience in a multi‑site organisation will be well regarded. For HR Advisors, demonstrated readiness to operate at a business partnering level — including influencing leaders and managing complexity — will be key.

                    In return, we offer:

                    • A supportive, down‑to‑earth Senior Leadership Team where you’re encouraged to contribute and challenge
                    • Genuine opportunity to broaden and deepen your HR capability and reach your potential
                    • Exposure to varied client groups, business challenges and meaningful work
                    • Great purchasing discounts, access to group medical schemes, and ongoing learning and development

If you’re ready to operate — or grow — at HR Business Partner level in a values‑led organisation, we’d love to hear from you.
