                    It’s an exciting time to join NZ Safety Blackwoods! We’re looking for a Trade Sales Assistant to join our tight-knit team in our Manukau Trade Centre.

                    It’s also an exciting time for our Manukau team as we have recently relocated into our new premises. As we establish ourselves in our new location, our focus is on striving for excellence in every interaction and continuing to build strong relationships with every customer who walks through our doors. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about customer service, enjoys building genuine connections, and wants to be part of a team that is committed to delivering an outstanding customer experience.

                    This is a part-time role working Saturdays only, 8:30am – 2:30pm (5.5 hours per week), with the opportunity for additional hours across our South and East Auckland Trade Centres when required.

                    Reporting to the Trade Centre Manager – Auckland South, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with customers, solving problems, and being part of a busy trade-focused environment.

                    Are you an experienced salesperson who loves helping customers find what they need for the job they're doing? Having good knowledge of PPE, hardware or apparel will be a definite advantage.

                    This isn’t your standard sales role! It’s varied, hands-on, and rewarding, with a mix of customer service, store operations, stock management and some manual handling.

                    Key Responsibilities

                    • Be the first point of call for customers walking through the door.
                    • Interact with customers, identifying their needs and presenting solutions across our wide range of products and services.
                    • Deliver customer service that drives sales and builds customer loyalty.
                    • Provide world-class customer service, ensuring customers are always the number one priority.
                    • Upsell at every opportunity.
                    • Assist with maintaining and improving store presentation, visual merchandising standards and product selection.
                    • Maintain stock levels on shelves and ensure appropriate stock rotation.
                    • Handle, pack and dispatch inward and outward goods.
                    • Assist with maintaining accurate inventory within the store.

                    Our Ideal Candidate

                    • Proven experience in a similar role within the retail, sales and/or trade sector.
                    • Sales-driven with a desire to exceed targets and deliver results.
                    • Friendly and outgoing with excellent communication skills and a strong team focus.
                    • Able to quickly build and maintain lasting customer relationships.
                    • A problem-solver who can turn challenging situations into positive outcomes.
                    • Passionate about customer service with a proactive, can-do attitude.
                    • Physically capable and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
                    • Confident using computer systems, including point-of-sale systems and Microsoft Outlook.
